A few things that are now running.

Unfortunately, much of my work is under NDA. Below is a selection of what I can show.

WermTech packaging robot in the workshop in Sweden
BUILT IN SWEDEN

DELIVERED IN GERMANY
PROJECT MANAGEMENT · TECHNICAL TRANSLATION

Built in Sweden. Delivered in German.

The problem
"We have sold a machine to Germany and now found out that they mainly speak German."
What I did
WermTech built a packaging robot for a German truck manufacturer. I handled the project management between both parties, translated the documentation and supported the FAT and the installation at the customer's site, also as technical interpreter. Because I knew the machine technically, not a single question had to go back to Sweden first.
The result
Nothing lost in translation. When the customer once suggested doing something without me because of the schedule, WermTech immediately said they'd rather have me there. The appointment was moved. You don't get a better compliment.
Client
WermTech, Sweden. End customer: a truck manufacturer in Germany.
Meshnex stainless steel vision housing above a conveyor, closed

CONCEPT · ENGINEERING · HYGIENIC DESIGN

A camera that only sees what it needs to see.

The problem
Meshnex builds vision software and instrumentation, but has no mechanical engineering of its own. Its customers do want a complete system.
What I did
The request started as "a frame the camera can go in". It became a closed stainless steel housing that keeps out ambient light, with its own lighting inside for constant illumination of the meat crates. Hygienically designed: no places where dirt builds up, sloped surfaces, and it opens up for cleaning. The whole unit fits above an existing conveyor.
The result
Meshnex now sells a complete product instead of half a solution. Two variants are on the way: with a weighing unit and with a reject conveyor. My advice: modular, so a customer can add a module later without replacing anything.

ENGINEERING · HYGIENIC DESIGN

Four meetings. One new machine.

The problem
WMI Holland was building a new line for a cheese factory in Belgium. Its own engineering team couldn't do everything at once.
What I did
I took over the cheese turner as a standalone subproject: a machine that flips the cheeses in the line. I did the mechanical design and integrated the supplied motor and sensors. All according to hygienic design principles. Delivered as a complete 3D model with workshop drawings, from which WMI created the production package itself.
The result
A cheese turner WMI can add straight to its own product portfolio. The whole project took four meetings: the briefing, two in between and the handover.
Client
WMI Holland. End customer: a cheese factory in Belgium.
Design of the new guarding for a production line, with fencing and hinged doors
DESIGN
The realised guarding with hinged doors in the production area
REALISED
ENGINEERING · PROJECT MANAGEMENT · SAFETY

Guarding without boxing everything in.

The problem
In eight departments the guarding no longer met the standards. But everything had to stay accessible for maintenance and cleaning.
What I did
An external safety manager supplied the list of improvement points. Together with the people on the floor, I translated them into solutions that stayed workable, and I helped think things through when new points came up along the way. I designed the guarding to measure: fixed fencing, hinged doors and mesh panels. And I coordinated between manufacturer, installer and programmer.
The result
All eight departments meet the standards again, and work carries on as normal. Without unworkable situations.

"We're very happy working with Herman. He works practically, thinks in solutions and knows how to translate technology into workable solutions. Thanks to short lines and quick switching, we can work together efficiently. His down-to-earth, hands-on approach is a good fit for TSK."

Just give me a call.

Tell me what needs to be built. Within one conversation, you'll know whether I can help.

Ideally I'm there from the first sketch. Deadline already breathing down your neck? Call anyway.
